Why is it snowing?? It is almost April, that means it is spring; it should not be snowing anymore!! When I woke up this morning I was very disappointed to see white on the ground. If I were back home I would be swimming by now but instead I am freezing my tail off waiting for winter to end! If you ask me, winter should only be like 2 months of the year and then it is spring again because winter is not too bad for about two months but then I am sick of it! I love the spring time though, the temperature is practically always perfect, there are flowers and green grass, plus my birthday! Who doesn't like all of those things? Snow is pretty to look at as well and you can do fun stuff like build snowmen, go sledding, and have snow ball fights but then you get cold and wet and sick and it is just not fun anymore. The only down side to spring is allergies for some people but luckily I don't get bothered with them so I say it should be spring more often! My mom told me that today it was almost 90 degrees in Texas! That's a bit too warm for me but it is crazy how different the weather is compared to Utah! Anyway, just my recent thoughts of the day, a little bit of venting!

This is one of many famous paintings by Andy Warhol. Some people think that Andy Warhol loved Marylin Monroe and that is why he chose her as his subject and repeated it. I believe it is actually the contrary. Warhol was trying to show how people in Hollywood, especially women, are all fake, processed, products that are completely the same. Warhol even used silk screens to produce his art work so that he could make many duplicates that were all exactly the same emphasizing his points. Some celebrities are not people at all, they are creations of their publicist, managers, labels, and other people that run their lives. I think that this painting, as well as many other Warhol artworks, do a good job of making fun of Hollywood and companies that are just there to sell you a product, plus it looks cool!

Shopaholic
"Your total comes to $53.70."
"Your spending more money on more clothes Janey?"
"Yeah, but it is just a couple of things and they are on sale and sooooo cute!"
This is a typical conversation on the weekends Jane Williams got paid...even some of the ones she didn't. It's not that she is constantly spending large amounts of money, she was actually quite good at saving, it was just something about getting an adorable new dress or pair of stilletos that made Jane feel great. She also loved all the compliments her outfits recieved from friends and strangers. Every friend of Jane's knew she was always the go to girl when they needed help with something to wear or a great outfit for an event. Her motto was, "Every store deserves a look and if it's on sale and looks good, buy it!"
"You couldn't possibly fit one more article of clothing into your closet or drawers! They will literally explode! Why do you need more clothes anyway? It's not like you are going to run out anytime soon!"
Jane's sister Elizabeth was always reminding Jane about the amount of clothes and accessories she owned even though borrowing Jane's clothes was one of her favorite things to do.
"Well I will just have to turn my whole room into a huge closet and sleep in your bed! Besides when you find a great deal you need it, even if you have more than all the stores in the mall combined!"
The truth was Jane knew her sister was right, she didn't need all of the stuff she was buying, she just couldn't stop! It was an addiction, a strong over powering addiction that Jane just couldn't overcome! Jane was a shopaholic!

"Out of my League"
Stephen Speaks
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWT1u8ez8KUThis is just a video with the song playing and the lyrics
Basically I love this song!! If you haven't heard any of Stephen Speaks music you should really give it a listen; they are amazing!
This song is about a guy who is completely in love with a girl. He basically talks about what it is like when he is with her and how he is amazed by her. This song really pulls on your emotions! Everyone wants to have someone feel like this about them and I'm pretty sure everyone wants to feel this way about someone. The basic message is, being in love is an awesome feeling that is hard to describe in words. You don't have to be doing anything, you are more than happy to just watch the other person and hang out with them. The melody of this song is played in higher notes and the only instrument is the piano. I think the reason for this is that love is kinda like a high and he is trying to keep it simple like the lyrics. When I fist heard this song I decided it needed to be played at my wedding so I think overall it is quite effective, at least if they were trying to write one of the most ideal love songs!

Why is it that in one day so many things can go wrong and stress you out and then when you think about it, it is probably an answer to a prayer about something else that was totally stressing you out? Let me tell you about my day Thursday...Well I woke up around 7:00 only getting about 3 hours of sleep or so that night because I had been stressing out about a chemistry test I had to take (I am terrible in Chem but I have to take it for my major so I just stress about it constantly). I went to my two classes like normal; in between them I studied for my test of course. In my second class we were just supposed to be reviewing for our chem test but I was soo tired I could hardly pay attention so it was more like a waste of time. Then I had to drive my car over to this auto shop in orem where my cousin works cause he said he would take a look at my car for me cause it was having problems ( it is about 1:00 in the afternoon now). I had planned for this to only take about half an hour to do so I could go home study for 30 minutes and then take my test before I had to go to work at 3:30. Well on the way there my car exploded!! No there weren't any flames but yes the inside was no longer completely in tact and smoke, antifreeze, oil, and what ever else is inside a car was spewing out! I was on a small slope in a parking lot when my car completely stopped working ( I was lucky and it keept going long enough for me to almost completely get out of the way of traffic) so I had to push it backwards by myself to get it completely out of the road and when I finally got it to move I couldn't get it to stop because I wasn't behind the wheel and it almost ran right into somone's car which would have just been lovely! I am lucky I was able to run faster than the car was rolling and stop it from behind. I was then coverd...and I mean covered in what my car was gushing. Then I called my dad to get my cousin's number but he didn't have it so he told me to walk over to the auto shop (about 6 blocks away) and go get him. Well I had just taken my first step over there and the weather decided to pour cold rain on me so by the time I got there I am covered in car fluid, soaking wet, and freezing because of course I didn't have a jacket. I think that is the most attractive I have ever looked in my life! When I get there I find out my cousin isn't even working like my Uncle said he was! So I'm thinking great now they are gonna charge me for labor but I have no choice! So this guy says he'll go try and check out my car for me and see if he can fix it quick enough for me to get home and then he asks for the keys which of course then I realize are in fact locked in my car. Luckily mechanics know how to break into cars so it didn't take him too long to get them out. I waited around the shop for about an hour before they got my car over there and could tell me that they couldn't check out my car until it stopped vomiting stuff. So I waited about another hour and tried to get ahold of someone who could come get me and then I realized I had to be at work about five minutes ago. I called and explained what happened and they said it would be fine if I was late which would have been great except I had to take my chemistry test before five and that was now impossible! So then I start freaking out over that and the fact that I can't email my professor and see if I could take the test Friday. I was lucky enough that they let my use the computer there to email him but I wouldn't know if that was okay until at least 9:30 that night when I get off work. Then the mechanic said that I had a blown gasget along with a lot of other things and it would cost way over $1600 to fix it. I only payed $1500 for this car when I was 16 but I have put way more money into fixing it all the time over the past five years and there was no way I could afford to put anymore into it especially that amount all at once! Therefore that had to be the end of "Big Buella" (that's my cars name) I finally got someone who could come get me about yet another hour later and I was almost two hours late for work but all I could think about was how I was going to get around without a car the rest of my college career and what I was going to do about my test! I was so stressed!! As I was thinking about it I realized that I had been praying for help on my test the night before and how I didn't feel I knew the material was well as I should to get an okay grade; this incident must have been Heavenly Father's way of giving me more time to study although I don't think the added stress really helped! Oh and to top off the day, once I got home I tried to get online to submit all of my homework that was due and write on this blog but apparently my internet had it out for me and refused to work until today (yay!) therefore no post and zeros on three assignments for chemistry (of course)!! On the plus side I had that whole night to study I did get to take my test Friday afternoon so I that was a good thing!
Wow long post...sorry guys...

Even though our papers have already been turned in I decided to analyze one of my sources for my post today. My source is the Utah government website or more specifically the part of the site that talks about Utah's energy consumption over the past year. I believe my source is credible because it is the government website and not just someone's blog about energy. It is logical in the way in presents the information because it gives you charts and graphs and you can see the increases or decreases in the states consumption of different types of energy. The infomation is more than sufficient for what I was needing. I believe it is typical of what experts would say because I'm sure experts put this together. I'm sure the information is accurate but I have no way to tell personally because I don't know how to measure the amounts of energy used. My source is also relevent because my paper was about using solar energy in Utah.
