RA

This is one of many famous paintings by Andy Warhol. Some people think that Andy Warhol loved Marylin Monroe and that is why he chose her as his subject and repeated it. I believe it is actually the contrary. Warhol was trying to show how people in Hollywood, especially women, are all fake, processed, products that are completely the same. Warhol even used silk screens to produce his art work so that he could make many duplicates that were all exactly the same emphasizing his points. Some celebrities are not people at all, they are creations of their publicist, managers, labels, and other people that run their lives. I think that this painting, as well as many other Warhol artworks, do a good job of making fun of Hollywood and companies that are just there to sell you a product, plus it looks cool!
